The Hydrogen Office project will demonstrate the role that energy efficiency, renewables and hydrogen can play in reducing the future impact of climate change and energy security of supply concerns.

The Hydrogen Office project will develop a 1200sqm energy efficient office building to house the Hydrogen Office Demonstration Centre, an incubation centre for small businesses, and flexible office accommodation. The project will be built in Methil (Fife,) and is intended to support the regeneration of the area by raising its profile, and attracting inward investment.

The building will be powered by a novel renewable and hydrogen energy system, using renewable energy directly when available, whilst storing surplus energy as hydrogen for a proportion of the building's needs for periods where renewables are unable to meet demand.


The Hydrogen Office Demonstration Centre will work to promote the benefits of:
