hydrogen office, building a sustainable future using renewable energy

Demonstration Centre

As a unique facility in the UK the Demonstration Centre will work to support the development of the emerging renewable, hydrogen and fuel cell industry by:

Proving the technology in commercial applications
1) Demonstrating reliability and robustness (i.e. operating fuel cells in a live commercial environment)
2) Independently verifying performance (ensuring that the technology does what the manufacturers say it will do)
3) Improving general access to the technology (i.e. letting people see it in operation)

Raising awareness and improving understanding
1) Engaging people who have an interest in the future use of this technology and promoting the benefits (i.e. an on-demand, low carbon energy source that is reliable, clean, quiet and does not depend on Russia or the Middle East)
2) Raising the profile (encouraging people to come and see the technology)

Developing skills, supporting education and facilitating research and development
1) Training (working with local schools, colleges and universities to improve understanding and skills)
2) Working with universities to resolve technical problems associated with operating integrated renewable energy systems
